Ohio State Professor Urban Meyer Reportedly Has A New Job As A CFB Analyst
Ohio State Leadership & Character professor Urban Meyer has found himself another side hustle in the year 2019:
SOURCE-According to a report by Michael McCarthy of the Sporting News, Meyer, who stepped down at the conclusion of this season, is on the verge of agreeing to a deal with Fox Sports for the 2019 season. It’s unclear what Meyer’s role would be and how it would impact the various commitments he has to Ohio State next year, but as one source told McCarthy, this is an aggressive move by Fox with the hopes of catching up to ESPN, long considered the kings of college football broadcasting.
Does this feel like Groundhog Day to you? If it does, I wouldn’t worry about it, because Urban Meyer did this exact thing in 2011.
Step 1: Retire from coaching for “health issues”
Step 2: Become analyst for sports network (in 2011, it was ESPN he worked for)
Step 3: Become sick of not coaching and calling games from the booth
Step 4: Find a new coaching job
We are currently at step 2. Step 4 in 2012 was to become the coach at Ohio State. Step 4 in 2020 will to become the coach of Notre Dame.
